MOISE SAFRA
A landmark for community
The Moise Safra Center is an exciting destination in New York City's cultural, educational, recreational, and spiritual life, home to a community grounded in a love of Israel, Jewish values, and traditions. The building at 130 East 82nd Street is a state-of-the-art vertical space, 14 stories and 65,000 square feet, combining pristine, functional design with an international flair and drawing its materials, Jerusalem stone, Italian tile, and Spanish glass, from around the world.

One platform, every function
The brief was simple to state: to manage a world-class facility, you need world-class technology. Behind the beautiful website sits a powerhouse managing scheduling, ticketing, events, payments, subscriptions, donations, communications, and much more. With multiple user types, this complex platform required meticulous planning, a proper mix of industrial-strength components, and a solid team of creatives and developers to bring it to life.

Requirements matched to technology
The platform had to work as three things at once: an administrative tool, a single back office for staff to run the institution day to day; a membership platform handling accounts, applications, and billing across many member types; and a scheduling utility for classes, events, and spaces, bookable by members and the public. Ruckus worked closely with the Center's team to match business and operating requirements with the appropriate technology and process.
A powerhouse behind the beauty
Ruckus built a brand-new website and companion mobile app, engineered on one connected system that serves the public, the synagogue, and members alike. Eight modules run on it: membership applications, approvals, and recurring billing; searchable, bookable classes and programs; ticketing and event reservations; rental spaces that members book instantly and the public inquires to reserve; secure payments; online giving, pledges, and history for the synagogue; announcements, newsletters, and member notifications; and self-service accounts across user types.
The public face is a refined, image-led website that introduces the Center, its programs, and its synagogue, and carries members straight into the platform, while the companion app puts the same experience in members' pockets. Nestled in the heart of the building, the Ohel Moshe Synagogue serves as an open tent for both Ashkenazim and Sephardim while embracing the Syrian Sephardic tradition.
Built to serve, from day one
A world-class institution earned a digital backbone to match: one platform running membership, scheduling, events, payments, and giving under a single roof, serving the Center's Upper East Side flagship and more than 500 member families welcomed, managed, and served through the system every day of the week.
