01The Client

The firm behind the Access Edge

Access Holdings is a Baltimore-based, research-led investment firm giving investors access to the lower-middle market. Through its proprietary operating model, the Access Edge, the firm buys and builds essential-service businesses it wants to own rather than those for sale, with $2.3 billion in assets under management and more than 250 add-on acquisitions to date.

Since 2020, Ruckus has been the firm's studio partner, producing its flagship investor events, firm films, and portfolio company stories through standing annual production programs.

02The Brief

Three audiences, one story, told at institutional grade

A firm that compresses multi-year transformations into months needs its story told with the same precision, to three very different audiences at once. Institutional investors gather twice a year at the firm's flagship events, and every summit, keynote, and annual meeting needs to be captured at institutional grade.

Founders and operators are the second audience. Access positions itself as a hands-on partner, and that claim lands hardest on film, inside the portfolio companies where the work actually happens. The third audience is the firm's own talent and culture: its history, its people, and the training programs that develop them.

03The Work

A standing studio program, not a vendor on call

The program is scoped annually and runs end to end. Pre-production builds cinematic packages for every asset: scripts, shot lists, casting, music and voiceover selection, plus production design down to set pieces and wardrobe.

Production fields full crews on location in Baltimore, Washington DC, and Brooklyn, with call sheets, client and crew management, and A/V oversight for multi-day live events. Post-production carries edit, color, and sound through structured review rounds, delivering mastered cuts from 60-second highlight reels to three-hour longform records.

04The Flagships

Where the firm meets its investors, Ruckus runs the cameras

The Leadership Summit at The Pendry in Baltimore is covered onsite year after year: full event recording, same-week highlight edits, an edited capture of the founder's opening address, a summit trailer produced on a dedicated two-day shoot, and event photography with an organized b-roll library.

The Annual Meeting across Baltimore and Washington DC is produced end to end, including A/V team management alongside the film crew, a longform record of the full meeting edited to two to three hours, cinematic AGM trailers and pre-event countdown videos, and ACE training sessions recorded at both flagship events.

The 2023 AGM trailer opens on a dictionary under a spotlight. A probe lens glides through its pages to the definition of partnership, then the film hands the question to real voices, people on the street, then the Access team, before closing on the reveal of the Access Acceleration Center inside the firm's new Baltimore headquarters.

05The Film Library

A catalog that grows season over season

Beyond the events sits a growing library of firm and portfolio films: a Ten Year Anniversary film tracing the firm's history through interviews and b-roll, films on the A2C acceleration center, and a 45 to 60 minute semi-annual leadership production.

Portfolio stories bring the build-and-buy model to life company by company, including a hero film for Wagway shot in Brooklyn, a 10-minute sizzle reel for ASTP, and AGM presentation films. Dedicated shoot days across the portfolio add team headshots, staged photography across the Baltimore headquarters, and organized b-roll libraries.

06The Outcome

Signed in 2020, cameras still rolling

Studio production is scoped as an annual partnership, renewed year after year rather than bid shoot by shoot. Every Leadership Summit and Annual Meeting has been captured continuously since 2023, alongside the firm's ten-year milestone.

The next Leadership Summit scope was signed in February 2026, with Ruckus back at The Pendry in June.
