01The Client

A consultancy's first product brand

Synergetics is a management consulting firm with a 50-year legacy of driving operational excellence for manufacturers. Synovate is the product born from that expertise: a real-time production monitoring and continuous improvement platform spanning Line Beat, Maintenance Manager, and MRO Parts Manager, built for everyone from line operators to the C-suite.

Ruckus was engaged to take Synovate to market: the strategy, identity, website, and films that turn a consultancy's in-house tool into a technology brand that can compete with established manufacturing software players, across brand strategy and workshops, brand identity, web design, and video.

02The Challenge

A powerful product, seen as a consulting add-on

Fifty years of hands-on operational consulting earned deep trust, but no external perception of Synergetics as a data-driven software innovator. The manufacturing-software market is contested by established players like RedZone, Worximity, Vorne, and Epicor, each with a defined identity, and Synovate had to stand on its own as a product brand while unmistakably carrying the credibility of the Synergetics master brand behind it.

03The Strategy

Technology fused with consulting

A brand workshop and 8 stakeholder interviews, from the CEO to the plant-floor trainer, were synthesized into one strategic direction. Trust, transparency, execution, and client-centricity emerged as the shared DNA, along with an underdog's belief in outworking bigger firms. Competitive analysis mapped where Synovate's consulting-backed model could win, and the positioning call followed: Synovate is not standalone software, it is technology fused with consulting, so every insight comes with the expertise to act on it.

04The Identity

An arrow that points up

Ruckus designed the Synovate mark from the ground up: a wordmark anchored by the Synovate arrow, always cropped to emphasize its upward direction, extending the design language into a broader visual system. The identity shipped as formal brand guidelines, with a monoline icon style and a palette that inherits Synergetics' navy and red while claiming a red-to-navy gradient as the product brand's own signature, set in Open Sans, a humanist sans balancing professionalism with approachability.

05The Work

A front door built for every audience

Ruckus designed the full Synovate website, homepage, products, about, resources, and contact, backed by user personas for plant managers, line operators, executives, and private equity operating partners. Every page carries the identity system, angled navy panels, the gradient, and the Synovate arrow, and Ruckus stayed on through the build, consulting and QA'ing the developed site page by page with the client's build team.

A five-film library followed from Ruckus Studio, finished in 4K: a hero anthem in long and short cuts plus a web loop, brand-element films for Actionable Insights, Continuous Improvement, and Human-Centric Innovation, and customer testimonial footage shot on location at Eli's Cheesecake, the third-generation Chicago dessert maker running Synovate on its lines. The 2024 launch engagement has since grown into marketing management and an expanded 2026 RFP engagement.
