01The Client

A decade building the platforms behind the platforms

Intellibus is a software engineering and consulting firm founded in 2015 in Reston, Virginia. Its engineers, drawn from what the firm calls the world's top 15 percent, build intelligent business platforms across AI, big data, and cloud, advising board members and C-suite leaders at some of the largest financial institutions on the technology behind their businesses.

The firm works where the hard problems live: platform stability, unified data, and the AI models that run on top of them. In 2023, Ruckus was engaged as Intellibus's studio partner for content discovery, a stakeholder workshop and a video strategy brief built to turn a company of quiet builders into a brand with a public voice.

02The Assignment

A quiet powerhouse in a deafening market

Over years, Intellibus had built a strong team and an ethical approach to AI, and marketed almost none of it. Its core services were a secret hiding in plain sight, while the AI space grew competitive and noisy, every company suddenly claiming the same ground and credibility getting harder to hear.

The stakes were plain. Exceptional growth required brand awareness, a clear voice, and a team of visible thought leaders, because the talent Intellibus wanted had to be able to find it. The firm had a real story that had never been told.

03The Work

One workshop, one strategy brief

Before a single frame is shot, the story has to be found. In spring 2023, Ruckus ran a two-hour session with key stakeholders mapping what success looks like for Intellibus in 2023 and beyond, the full ecosystem of initiatives around the brand, the firm's approach and ethos, and a year of milestones and events worth planning production around.

Everything the workshop surfaced landed in a single video strategy brief: the collective challenge and a recommended positioning, the point of view a quiet firm should carry into a noisy market, content types with samples and budget ranges, the number of videos it takes for a story to stick, the channels they should play on, and the tonality of the brand on camera.

04The Outcome

A company of quiet builders, handed the plan for its own story

The discovery was produced and delivered from a standing start in a matter of weeks. Cadence, channels, and tonality were defined, and the whole brief was built so production could be scoped the moment Intellibus said go, pointing the firm at the opportunity it had been sitting on: raise brand awareness, tell the story behind the work, and stand up as the thought leaders the market was missing.
