ALTEC LANSING
A legacy name with today's appeal
Altec Lansing has long been synonymous with great sound and beautiful design. Established in 1927, the name has lived at the forefront of audio for generations and remains one of the most recognized brands in sound. Ruckus was brought in to carry that legacy to a new audience across brand identity, packaging and retail display, campaign creative, product and sell-sheet design, and public relations.

Make a legacy feel like now
A storied audio name was expanding fast across waterproof speakers, headphones, and accessories. The work was to give the full line one bold, unmistakable voice and make nearly a century of heritage feel current, desirable, and impossible to ignore, bringing together sound, design, and scenery for the creative work. Sound cannot be visualized, but the feeling it brings, at the right time, can.

est. FIRST
The brand platform rests on a single truth: Altec Lansing has been first before. First to bring sound to talking pictures, at Abbey Road while the Beatles made history, and at Woodstock when a generation made itself heard. Ruckus turned that heritage into a rallying cry, minimal, bold, and built to lead, then codified the brand in a full style guide: logo system, typography, photography, iconography, and voice. The discipline was simple, strong typography over clean black and white space, so the product color could do the talking.
Everything Proof, everywhere
The Everything Proof line is waterproof, sandproof, drop-proof, and built to float, so the advertising carried the same swagger as the product. Ruckus paired scene-setting creative with precise messaging across seasonal pushes, national retail, and sports and festival activations, and designed the packaging system that governs the first physical moment with the brand, from product architecture and iconography to in-store display.
To reach a new generation, Altec Lansing partnered with Nick Jonas on a signature line. Ruckus built the collaboration's identity and led the launch, press strategy, social, and a flagship retail event, wrapping heritage sound in rose gold and matte black across two finishes and one signature mark.
One system, a full line, a marquee launch
Identity, packaging, and retail display now run under a single bold standard, with campaign and product design spanning the full Everything Proof range and national retail, and public relations and social carrying the story out. The Nick Jonas collaboration was brought to market with its own flagship retail moment, wrapping heritage sound in rose gold and matte black and carrying nearly a century of legacy to a new generation.
