Beyond the field

American Farmers Network unites American family farmers who raise cattle with a sense of respect and responsibility, supplying premium grass-fed and organic beef to tables across the nation. Today AFN stands as the largest domestic supplier of premium grass-fed and organic beef, with more than 500 team members across multiple USDA-certified processing locations.

Ruckus was engaged in 2021 to introduce the new AFN to the world: a complete rebrand, a brand story, and a marketing website designed, built, and launched end to end. The partnership continues today across marketing, content, and packaging, and the founders have come back for new work each year since.

02The Brief

One brand, pasture to plate

AFN needed a refined identity that reflected its updated ambitions, stood apart in the market, and could travel across its full product portfolio and packaging. The mission needed language that connects farmers, animals, and the people they feed, personal, simple, and sustainable through relationships. And a leading meats brand had no digital home, so it needed a marketing website built from the ground up to reach consumers and trade partners alike.

03The Rebrand

An identity rooted in the land

The dinner bell became the mark, a call to the table, ringing from a brand that values tradition and embraces the future. The wordmark is set in Minerva Modern, a high-contrast typeface with flared terminals and angled stems that condenses cleanly to the AFN abbreviation. The palette draws sage, cream, and earth tones from the pasture, balanced by rust and terracotta warmth, with Orpheus Pro for headlines and Roboto for clean detail. The guidelines art-direct every photograph: open grassland, working hands, honest cuts, and the tables they reach.

04The Work

One brand voice, every page

From kickoff workshops through UX architecture, design, and copy written from the brand story, Ruckus built and launched americanfarmersnetwork.com as a focused marketing site, architected from day one so commerce could be added as the product line scaled. AFN's founders returned in 2024 and 2025 for new brand films, One Great Idea, The Provenance Table, and The Cut Library, plus a product photography program capturing 8 products for a library of 120 finished images.

05The Brand Today

One great idea, carried to national scale

The company Ruckus helped introduce in 2021 now leads its category as the largest domestic supplier of premium grass-fed and organic beef. In 2025 AFN acquired Open Range Beef, cementing vertically integrated domestic processing capacity, and the identity still leads at americanfarmersnetwork.com and across packaging, with Ruckus supporting the brand into 2026.
