01The Client

The standard for quality, since 1932

ABET is the nonprofit, ISO 9001 certified authority that accredits college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. Its stamp is a global benchmark for educational quality, recognized by the institutions and employers who rely on it, across more than 4,800 accredited programs in over 40 countries.

To extend that authority to a new audience, ABET launched Professional Programs, credentialing courses for the educators who teach and assess rather than the institutions themselves. Ninety years of institutional trust was the asset. Ruckus was engaged to build the brand and the platform that would turn that legacy into something a new audience could buy into today.

02The Assignment

A new arm, one trusted name

Professional Programs had to stand on its own and speak to individual educators, not institutions, while unmistakably belonging to ABET. Three questions set the brief: separate professional development from accreditation services without diluting either, turn nine decades of institutional trust into a reason for professionals to enroll, and stand up a brand, platform, and campaign the audience could find, trust, and buy from.

03The Work

Voice first, then a place to enroll

A brand workshop and market analysis defined where Professional Programs could stand apart. From there Ruckus wrote the brand story end to end, from mission and vision to values, tone, and market position, delivered as an eight-chapter document that every page, post, and ad now answers to. The identity was built on the circle, ABET's mark of global reach, unity, and continuous improvement, set as concentric rings with a warm accent over deep institutional navy.

Ruckus then designed and built the Professional Programs platform at cred.abet.org, from user stories and sitemap to a live, self-paced storefront. Learners browse certificates, enroll, complete courses in the LMS, and earn shareable digital badges across eight self-paced courses and two stackable certificates in program assessment.

04The Marketing

An engine to find the audience

With the brand and platform in place, Ruckus built the go-to-market layer: GA4 analytics and conversion tracking, a rebuilt Google Ads and Performance Max account, organic social aligned to the new voice, and email and CRM foundations for enrollment. Launch creative spoke to every side of the audience, the professional advancing a career, the educator earning a certificate, and the administrator investing in student success.

05The Results

The engine turned over before launch

The go-to-market layer Ruckus built and ran started producing before the platform opened its doors, then kept converting once it did: 145 leads in a seven-week pre-launch campaign, more than 193,000 impressions across Meta and LinkedIn, and 127 paid-search conversions in January 2025 alone. New site traffic grew 25 percent month over month, and a 12-month marketing engagement followed launch.
