TWO GOOD SONS
A family story, built to scale
Two Good Sons began with a simple act: a son helping his mother regain her health through better food. Born from American Farmers Network, the family behind 100% grass-fed, Certified Humane beef from regenerative American farms, the new consumer brand was built to carry that commitment to families everywhere. Ruckus was engaged to build the brand from the story up: strategy, positioning, pillars, voice, and tagline, plus the packaging and digital presence to carry it to market.

A crowded, skeptical aisle
The premium meat aisle is crowded, skeptical, and full of claims. Chomps, Country Archer, and Teton Waters own shelf space and brand recall, each with a sharp identity and years of head start. Consumers doubt grass-fed claims after years of marketing spin, so authenticity had to be proven, not asserted. AFN had the supply chain, the certifications, and the values. What it lacked was a consumer brand with a reason to believe.
Four pillars built on family
Ruckus defined a mission and vision rooted in the founding act, then four pillars built on family: Family First, good food built on good values; Good Food, Raised Right, better beef from regenerative American farms; Honest Craftsmanship, complete transparency so consumers can trust what they feed their families; and A Legacy of Doing Good, supporting small farmers and regenerative agriculture for generations to come.
The voice came out warm, confident, and purpose-driven: honest, family-driven, and mission-driven, premium without pretense, speaking like people who genuinely care, because they do. Nine tagline concepts narrowed to one: Real Food. Real Values. Real Food claims the 100% grass-fed, ethically sourced product, Real Values claims the family-driven mission, a line built to pair with the name for the long run.
From story to shelf
Packaging and label design carried the family narrative and the certifications that prove it, built to stand out against category leaders in the retail cold case. To sell better beef, you have to show it, so Ruckus produced an original food photography shoot, the beef itself, raw and finished on the plate, styled around real family meals. One shoot merchandised the whole site: raw cuts and finished plates for heroes, product cards, and features.
Designed, never launched
Ruckus designed the full e-commerce experience: a homepage opening on Good Starts at Home over butcher-block steak photography, a What Sets Our Beef Apart trust bar promoting the certifications, an Our Products card row, a seasonal feature, the brand story told beside a rancher portrait, and an email capture to close. The storefront paired a Shop by Category sidebar, with Boneless, Bone-In, and Shop by Grade groupings, against a photography-forward product grid, priced and staged for real SKUs.
Behind the pages the file ran deep: wireframes, a site map, desktop and mobile layouts, a component system, and a palette of cornflower periwinkle, butcher cream, and deep navy over white, finished in design and headed for launch. The launch never came. The company closed before the site could go live. A supply chain became a story, and a story became a complete brand that was ready to ship.
