01The Client

A marketplace for medicine

PharmaCare is a platform built to create mutually beneficial relationships between independent pharmacies and drug manufacturers. Through its digital marketplace, businesses offload excess inventory and source the prescriptions they need to fill for their clients: find solutions, and fill orders. Ruckus was engaged across brand strategy, visual identity, platform UX and UI, and product development.

02The Opportunity

A market that couldn't find itself

Every year, pharmacies sit on medicine they can't use while others scramble to fill it, and the tools meant to connect them were confusing and hard to trust. Buyers couldn't find what they needed. Sellers struggled to list, with clunky pricing and upload flows that left no room for the nuances of expiration dates and packaging. Nothing about the experience earned the trust a pharmacist needs before trading medicine, and none of it accounted for how pharmacists actually work: on their feet in the stockroom, able to buy from only one seller at a time.

03The Brand

A capsule split into an arrow

Ruckus gave PharmaCare a clear reason for being: to create intuitive solutions that help businesses and the people they serve, built on four pillars, problem solving, innovation, efficiency, and support. The identity followed. A geometric, lowercase, name-forward wordmark splits a capsule into an arrow, the signal of medicine on the move, set in a navy, coral, and cyan palette with Poppins for display and Lato for text, clean and legible from listings to checkout.

04The Platform

Five principles, every screen

Five principles shaped every screen. Search built for buyers, with a custom filter as the entry point so finding the right drug takes seconds, not guesswork. Effortless listing for sellers, single or bulk CSV upload with pricing that respects expiration, packaging, and availability. An interface built on trust, where every item and party is accounted for. Design for the stockroom, responsive across tablet, mobile, and desktop. And commerce that feels modern, a multi-vendor cart and checkout so buyers browse and buy freely across sellers.

Sellers post overstock and short-dated inventory by NDC, lot, and expiration, one item at a time or in a single bulk upload. Buyers work a live product table with search by name or NDC, filters, and sorting, every row carrying strength, packaging, expiration, and price against WAC, with one-tap paths to compare, watchlist, or cart. The same tools travel from the tablet at the shelf to the phone in a pharmacist's hand.

05The Results

One scope became the whole build

What started as an MVP plan, a way to reimagine how pharmacies redistribute medicine, grew into the whole engagement: a complete identity from mark and wordmark to palette and voice, a marketplace and admin platform designed, wired, and engineered screen by screen, and a multi-year development retainer advancing the product month over month and readying it to launch.
