ASHCHROMICS
Lenses that read the light
AshChromics is an innovation company that reengineers everyday products through advanced research and development. Its patented FADES technology powers lenses that respond in real time to shifts in ambient light, built on 25 years of aerospace and defense engineering. FADES runs on a dual-polymer system and an applied-voltage algorithm, darkening from light to dark in three seconds, holding 36 hours of battery on a single charge, and needing no UV to work. The technology extends beyond eyewear to visor inserts and windows.

Defense-grade science, no consumer brand
A patented lens technology, born in aerospace and defense, needed a consumer brand the world could actually see, and Ruckus built it end to end. That meant everything a consumer meets: the positioning, the voice, the digital experience, and the launch. There were three problems to solve. The name had no awareness against established eyewear giants. The electrochromic science had to be made instantly understandable. And engineering credibility still had to look and feel worth wearing.
A voice with range
Ruckus shaped a brand story that reads as educational and direct without losing a wide audience. Industry proof and plain language work together, so the science lands and the promise stays human. The story was built on core values, extensive experience from 25 years of engineering, extreme utility from lenses that adapt to variable lifestyles, customer-engineered durability, and a bold vision, all under one mission: to engineer solutions for your ever-changing world. The result named an unknown company's point of view and gave the science a voice people outside the lab could follow.

Sharp from the tunnel to the open road
FADES eyewear responds the instant the environment changes, so vision stays sharp from the tunnel to the open road. It holds intermediate shades of darkness, retains color memory, reduces haze, and delivers advanced eye protection. The line was designed for launch in gloss and matte finishes across black, gray, and tan frames, engineered for optimal vision and bold practicality.
A launch in every lane
Ruckus built a platform-responsive ecommerce experience from UX planning through high-fidelity design, putting function and usability first, then wired it to commerce so the technology could go straight to market. The store was dressed in bold, high-contrast type, black blocks, red rules, and clean space. Ruckus then took FADES to market with a multi-pronged social campaign and an influencer program, speaking to cyclists, drivers, motorcyclists, skiers, builders, and outdoor athletes who live in changing light all day long.
