FLAHERTY CHEVROLET
Branding a handshake
Flaherty Chevrolet is a family-owned dealership rooted in Brandenburg, Kentucky for over fifty years. Run by Travis and Rachel Flaherty and a lifelong local team, it has carried families through generations of vehicles, earning a Chamber of Commerce award for community service along the way. Its reputation was built on names remembered and promises kept. What it did not yet have was a brand that looked the way that felt.

A legacy of trust, with nothing to carry it forward
Decades of goodwill lived in people, not in a system. There was no documented voice, no ownable mark, and no rules to keep a growing dealership looking like itself. Ruckus was brought in to translate a half century of reputation into an identity Flaherty could own and repeat everywhere: define the voice, design an ownable mark specific to Flaherty rather than a template every dealer already wears, and codify it to last.

Four values, put into words
Ruckus wrote four values into the brand story. Heritage: roots in Brandenburg, serving local families across multiple generations. Community: giving back is integral, from food drives to local schools. Professionalism: a team that knows its vehicles inside and out and stays on top of new technology. Trust: fully transparent, here to answer every question. The tone of voice reads confident in its expertise, neighborly and familiar, honest and trustworthy, empathetic and receptive.
A logo built from Kentucky itself
The wordmark was custom drawn from Shackleton, a sturdy serif inspired by old Kentucky bourbon labels, with serifs refined and the letters set on a curve. An FC monogram sits in a container inspired by the calligraphy of vintage automotive emblems, and the establishment and location line is set in Syncopate, anchoring the mark to Brandenburg and to a dealership legacy.
The palette was drawn to feel established, dependable, and quietly premium: blue for trust, gold for legacy, six brand colors specified down to PMS values and usage proportions. Three typefaces, Bitter, Syncopate, and Noto Sans, carry the system, and Travis Flaherty's own handwriting was digitized into brand signatures, so even a printed message still feels like it came from a neighbor.
A fifty year handshake, now a brand
Everything was captured in a full brand guidelines document covering the logo, its spacing and lockups, color, typography, photography direction, and formatting for web and print, with reference applications from storefront glass and dealer plates to keychains, apparel, and merchandise. Flaherty Chevrolet can now communicate its core values before a single word is read, governed by a system built to keep every touchpoint consistent for years to come.
